Professor Vitor Cardoso was elected member of the Lisbon Academy of Sciences. The aim of the Academy is to encourage scientific research, promote national culture, collaborate in education and teaching activities, and contribute to the discussion of ideas.
The Academy consists of two academic classes – the class of science and the class of letters – and each class consists of emeritus and corresponding members, organised into nine sections. The members are chosen from among the Portuguese citizens who have produced scientific or literary work of recognised merit.
The official ceremony will take place on 7th July 2022.
