Vitor Cardoso visited the Silesian University group, in Opava. His visit marked the end of the local GR course by Marek Abramowicz. He discussed how to quantify the evidence for black holes using EM or gravitational-wave data. A special emphasis was focused on possible late-time signals called echoes, caused by the trapping of modes between the photsphere and the object.
