Reinhard Genzel from Max Planck Institute in Munich and Nobel Laureate in Physics this year is going to deliver a colloquium at the IST Physics Department with the title "Testing the massive black hole paradigm and general relativity with infrared interferometry". It is an extension of the outstanding presentation addressed to the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences last week.
CENTRA members, Paulo Garcia and António Amorim, participated in this magnificent endeavor of understanding the central black hole of our galaxy through the Gravity instrument placed in the Very Large Telescope at ESO's Paranal Observatory, Chile.
CENTRA member Amaro Rica da Silva is the host and CENTRA member Vitor Cardoso chairs the session.
The colloquium is on Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at 4:00pm, by zoom, see here.
