CENTRA celebrates the 2019 Physics Nobel Prize to cosmology

Cosmology, through the work of Jim Peebles of Princeton University on the cosmic microwave background, primordial nucleosynthesis, structure formation, and dark matter, got the 2019 Nobel Prize in Physics, conjointly with the discovery of the first exoplanet. CENTRA celebrated this prize in great style. A CENTRA Port Wine get-together happened in the Physics seminar room IST, on Thursday, October 10, 2:15pm, just before CENTRA's seminar.

Comments on the Nobel Prize to Peebles by José Sande Lemos and Vítor Cardoso appeared in the IST News, in the newspaper Público, and in the magazine Visão.
