June 2020
A group of scientists and engineers from CENTRA and staff at Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa (Ciências ULisboa) and the Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto (FEUP) - are participing in the development of METIS (Mid-infrared ELT Imager and Spectrograph), a powerful instrument that will be mounted on the biggest terrestrial telescope - the Extremely Large Telescope (ELT).
METIS has passed a critical phase - the preliminary design review – and will now take another approximately 7 years until it is constructed and installed at the ELT.
