Title: The effective field theory of large scale structure
Abstract: Although the Universe as a whole is well described by a perfect homogeneous fluid, we know that it is very inhomogeneous on (not so) small scales. The influence of these short modes has recently been understood using an effective field theory approach, by successfully describing them as a fluid characterized by several parameters, like the speed of sound and viscosity. In this talk, I will speak about this effective field theory of large scale structure and show our latest efforts to describe the universe as two fluids, namely, dark matter and baryonic matter.
