VENUE

Faculty of Law, University of Lisbon

Alameda da Universidade, 1649-014 Lisboa

The meeting will take place in the builing of the Faculty of Law  (Faculdade de Direito) of the University of Lisbon, located at the campus in Campo Grande. The main conference room will be the Amphitheater #7. The campus is located in the northern part of Lisbon, and is well connected by the public transportation. The nearest metro stop is Cidade Universitaria (yellow line). Other convenient stop is Campo Grande (green line; 10 min walk). Here is the map showing the exact location and the surroundings.

How to arrive from the airport

(1) By public transport

Take the red metro line from the airport (direction São Sebastião). Step out at the stop Saldanha, and change to the yellow line, direction Odivelas. Go out at the stop Cidade Universitaria. Follow the exit signs to go out at the Reitoria de Universidade da Lisboa/Aula Magna. The trip should take around 30 minutes. You should purchase a reusable transportation card (Lisboa Viva Card; 0.5 euros) and charge it with the tickets that can be used for metro, bus, or train (1.45 euros). The card and the tickets can be bought at the wending machines at the metro entrance.

(2) By taxi

Taxi is relatively inexpensive in Lisbon, and the University is located only 4 km from the airport. The exact price will depend on the traffic and the amount of luggage you carry, but should probably not exceed 10 EUR.

ACOMMODATION

Lisbon is a tourist city with many lodging options. We recommend to check out your favorite hotel booking website, especially if you plan to stay closer to the city center. The venue is easily reachable from many parts of Lisbon by metro (the yellow and the green lines both stop nearby). There are not many hotels at a walking distance from the meeting venue, here we list some that are about 15 min walk from the University campus.

Radisson Blu Hotel Lisbon
Avª Marechal Craveiro Lopes 390, 1749-009 Lisboa
15 min walk

NH Campo Grande
Campo Grande 7, 1700-087 Lisboa
15 min walk

VIP Executive Entrecampos
Avenida 5 de Outubro, 295, 1600-035 Lisboa
15 min walk

SOCIAL DINNER

The conference dinner will be held on Tuesday, December 19th at 20:00h at the restaurant D'Bacalhau. The restaurant is specialized in the traditional portuguese dishes containing codfish (bacalhau), and the menu we booked is based on it. However, there will be vegetarian and meat options available for those not eating fish.

To reach the restaurant, you can take the metro to the station Oriente on the red line, or a taxi. A good option for the people staying close to Entre Campos area is a local train from Entrecampos train station to Lisboa-Oriente (you can check the schedule at www.cp.pt)
