The 3rd International Conference on the Initial Stages in High-Energy Nuclear Collisions (InitialStages2016) will be held in Lisbon (Portugal) on May 23-27 2016 in Técnico's Congress Center.
From its first edition in A Toxa (Galicia, Spain) in 2013, through the 2014 edition in Napa (USA), the conference has served as the main forum for presentation and discussion of the experimental and theoretical progress on the understanding of the partonic structure of protons and nuclei, the corresponding conditions at the initial stages of nucleus-nucleus and proton-nucleus collisions, the subsequent hydrodynamical evolution, the determination of QGP properties, and the emergence of collective behaviour in small systems. The 2016 conference, with 120-150 expected participants, has been identified by all four main LHC collaborations as a major showcase for new results from LHC run 2 on PbPb and high-multiplicity proton-proton collisions.
