ABSTRACT: In this talk, I will first introduce Steven Weinberg's scenario of Asymptotic Safety as a non-perturbative UV completion for quantum gravity, and will briefly present some of the recent theoretical developments in this context. I will then proceed to discuss about some of the key implications of the scenario for cosmology and new insights we can gain about the physics of the early and late universe.
