Jets play a crucial role in the present efforts to fully establish the properties of the state of matter, a Quark-Gluon Plasma, produced in ultrarelativistic heavy ion collisions at RHIC and the LHC and prevalent during the early stages of the Universe.
The workshop — jointly organized by CENTRA-IST, MIT and Universidade de Santiago de Compostela — follows up on previous editions at CERN (2012) and Paris (2013). It will gather experts on experimental and theoretical aspects of jet physics in heavy-ion collisions and discuss the state-of-the art and further improvements of the interface between theory and experiment.
