Entangled quantum geometries (G. Chirco)

Jun. 12 - 14:30 - 2014

SPEAKER: G. Chirco (Marseille)

ABSTRACT:

I will give an introductory talk on relations between statistical mechanics of quantum geometry in covariant loop quantum gravity and semiclassical space-time thermodynamics.
I will start by introducing the idea of quantum geometry and its mathematical realisation in terms of spin networks. I will then focus on the study of a particular class of states and quantum correlations for such systems. Finally I will elaborate on the fundamental role these quantum gravitational correlations may play in relation to some ‘'thermodynamical‘’ behaviour of gravity at the semiclassical level.
