I will describe recent results concerning two magnetic effects in the Sakai-Sugimoto model. The Sakai-Sugimoto model is a String Theory model that provides a dual description of QCD-like theories in the large-N limit.
The magnetic effects to be discussed are : i) Destruction of spiral phases at finite axial chemical potential, ii) Inhibition of confinement and chiral symmetry breaking at finite temperature.
