Professor Masaru Shibata, director of the Albert Einstein Institute in Potsdam, and a pioneer in Numerical Relativity just visited us. He delivered a talk on "the predictive power of numerical relativity", where he explained some of the latest results concerning neutron star mergers and the synthesis of heavy elements.
