Travel

The subway system is a convenient means of transportation for traveling within Lisbon and to reach Técnico-Alameda. The closest subway stations are Alameda (Green and Red lines), on the Eastern side, and Saldanha (Yellow and Red lines), on the western side. Click here for the network diagram.

 

Since 2012, the subway connects the airport directly to the city center. From the airport, Técnico can be easily reached by taking the red line to Alameda station. Alternatively, you can take a taxi for less than 10€.

 

If you prefer to travel by train, Lisbon is served by two stations where international trains stop. The older Estação de Santa Apolónia is located close to downtown, while Gare do Oriente is located in the eastern and more modern part of the city. They are both connected to the subway system.

Pensão Fonte Luminosa and Hotel A.S. Lisboa are 200 meters away from IST.

 

Holiday Inn Lisbon  and Turim Alameda Hotel are 100 meters away from IST.

 

Hotel Alif Campo Pequeno is 200 meters from the metro station Campo Pequeno, on the yellow line. The hotel is also at ~10 mins walking distance from Técnico.

 

Hotel Alif Avenidas and Hotel Principe Lisboa are 200 meters from the metro station São Sebastião, on the red line. The hotels are also at ~15 mins walking distance from Técnico.

 

Hotel Roma is 200 meters from the metro station Roma, on the green line. The hotel is also at ~20 mins walking distance from Técnico.

 

Venue

The VIII Black holes Workshop will take place at "Complexo Interdisciplinar" in the Alameda campus of Técnico. See campus map below. More details will be provided in due course.
