Jorge Dias de Deus has turned 70 this year. His idea of geometric scaling are now part of the elementary particle physics background. These and other achievements in physics as well as other realizations in the academia and university are going to be celebrated in this conference organized by CENTRA. Several speakers of IST and abroad will reflect on the importance and impact of Jorge's work. The conference will take place in the Auditorium of the Complexo Interdisciplanar, at Instituto Superior Técnico, Lisbon, in July 14 and 15, 2011.
