Saturday, October 30, 2010Denis Pollney, of the Universitat de les Illes Balears in Palma de Mallorca, visited us for some days. He gave a seminar to our group about gravitational wave fingerprints of binary black hole mergers.
Computation time at Milipeia
Our team (PI Helvi Witek) has been granted 100k CPU hours at the Milipeia cluster in Coimbra/ Portugal for the project “Dynamic black holes in generic spacetimes”.
UTL/Santander Totta Award
Tuesday, October 26, 2010Vitor Cardoso was awarded the UTL/Santander Totta award for outstanding researcher in the Universidade Técnica de Lisboa. The official ceremony will take place in Dec.10, at IST Lisbon.
